In this workshop you will hear a discussion about building people and forming community around you through intentional investment, whether in a group of 50 or 5. We will also discuss how to prevent burnout.

Many will leave conference wanting a community back home. This will equip you with tips to build just that. We will also discuss stories and their importance in community. 


Jeffrey Gerson

Community Manager of North America Instagram

Jeffrey Gerson works on Instagram’s Community Team as the Community Manger for North America. The Community Team seeks to build community and inspire creativity through sharing stories and learning from Instagrammers around the world. In addition to writing for the Instagram Blog, Jeffrey can be found making new friends at InstaMeets, spending too much time in coffee shops and adventuring throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.

 Jeffrey graduated from Stanford University in 2012 with a BA in English Literature.

A curator of great people, adventures and stories, Tricia is integral part of Steller’s community team; bringing together adventurers, photographers and storytellers to do what they do best: tell amazing stories and inspire community. A former Olympic snowboarder, you can find her hunting for pow slashes and hiking in the hills when she’s not flipping through stories on Steller.

Born and raised in Dallas, Paul Tellefsen is a connector, story listener and lover of people.He is the Director of Community at Socality. His heart is to develop leaders and connect people into real relationship and true community locally in a global way. With over 94,000 followers on Instagram he has grown to understand how to connect and build an engaged community. His photographic work has been featured in art shows around the country and across the web. He is the creator of Instagram Is: a viral Instagram documentary which has been seen around the world and loaded 5 million times.
